Adipokines and cardiovascular system

Abstract

Adipokines play an important role in atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases development. This article describes the influence of leptin, adiponectin and resistin on functioning of cardiovascular system and development of such pathological states and development of such pathological states as: atherosclerosis, diabetes mellitus type 2, stroke, myocardial infarction, inflammation, angiogenesis and atherogenesis in details considered.

Besides, it’s considered influence of ghrelin level on development of metabolic syndrome, arterial pressure, atherogenesis and atherosclerosis.
