The visceral adiposity as a diabetological problem (pathogenic, clinical and epidemiological aspects)

Abstract

In the review the pathogenic, clinical and epidemiological aspects of obesity/adiposity associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus are presented. The direct and indirect methods for quantitative assessment of a visceral adiposity and for an estimation of a risk type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diseases are examined.

The using of anthropometric indices for adiposity assessment at the different clinical and ethnic groups had been demonstrated.
