Additionals features of taurine in the treatment of patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 and chronic heart failure

AbstractThe article presents the results of evaluation of effect of taurine in the combined treatment of patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 and chronic heart failure on carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, insulin resistance, functional state of the liver during the 16 week study. The inclusion of taurine in the basic treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and chronic heart failure reduces the levels of fasting glucose, glycated hemoglobin and insulin resistance, reduces the levels of low density lipoproteins and triglycerides levels, has a hepatoprotective effect, significantly reducing the increased activity of alanine and aspartic aminotransferases, gammaglutamiltranspeptidase.
