New classes of antidiabetic drugs for modern management of type 2 diabetes mellitus

Abstract

Modern algorithms ofmedical care indiabetescontaininstructions for useof new groups ofantidiabetic drugs: SGLT2 inhibitors, DPP-4 inhibitors, GLP-1 receptor agonists. Each of these classeshas a unique mechanismof action thatdiffers from the oldoral hypoglycemic agentspreviously used for the treatmentof type 2 diabetes. Wediscussaspects of the usenewtherapeutic agentsin modernalgorithms ofmanagementtype 2 diabetesin this article.
