Dear colleagues!
The editorial Board of the journal "Endocrinology: news, views, learning" presents the new issue dedicated to the modern principles of management of diabetes mellitus.
In the new issue of published results of leading international studies on comparative evaluation of the effect of therapy exenatide, insulin or pioglitazone on glycemic control and the function of β-cells in patients with newly diagnosed diabetes mellitus type 2 (the CONFIDENCE study); correlations between diabetes, fasting glucose levels and the risk of developing glaucoma, as well as the results of the study TECOS examining the safety of an inhibitor of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 sitagliptin in relation to the cardiovascular system (article written by Russian authors).
In addition to recent research findings presented on the pages of the magazine, the reader can see the analytical reviews devoted to such topics as:
1) the effectiveness and safety of use in clinical practice, the first prandial agonist receptor GLP-1;
2) regenerative medicine in the treatment of diabetes;
