Out-patient profile of glucose and new touch technology – the timely help in management of diabetes mellitus

Abstract

Multifactorial approach underlies the bottom of modern management of type 2 diabetes. Currently special attention to glycemic excursion severity is given as the factor that leads to diabetes mellitus prognosis impairment. In the article continuous glucose monitoring systems for assessment of glycemic variability and new sensor technology for ambulatory glucose profile analysis are described.

Continuous glucose monitoring with evaluation of its variability allow to recognize “hidden” problems (carbohydrate metabolism decompensation), identify risk groups for hypoglycemic conditions development, and make hypoglycemic therapy correction well-timed.
