The role of drugs for weight reduction in stages management of type 2 diabetes: focus on sibutramine

AbstractAuthors of the article present the epidemiological and pathogenetic aspects of the relationship of type 2 diabetes and obesity, argue for the possibility of including drugs for weight loss in the current recommendations for the treatment of type 2 diabetes with obesity. We consider the case of a real clinical use of sibutramine in combination with metformin, a patient with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes.
