Metformin in the therapy of metabolic disorders: glycemic andnon-glycemic effects

AbstractThe article gives an overview of modern scientific literature about various aspects use of metformin for the treatment of various metabolic disorders. It is argued the possibility of including the drug in the complex treatment of syndrome X, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and polycystic ovary syndrome.
