Case of primary aldosteronism in clinical practice
AbstractThe syndrome of primary aldosteronism was first described by J. Conn (1955) in connection with the aldosterone-producing adrenaladenoma (aldosterome), the removal of which led to the disappearance of metabolic and clinical manifestations. According to the literature, the prevalence ofprimary aldosteronism among persons with essential hypertension is almost 10%.
Modern diagnostics of primary aldosteronism is based on the determination of the ratio of aldosterone concentration to plasma renin activity in patients with arterial hypertension. However, the detectability of primary aldosteronism remains low due to a reassessment of hypokalemia, persistent hypertension, as the main diagnostic criteria. Untimely diagnosis affects the quality of life of a patient and affects the prognosis of the disease. In this regard, it is useful to describe new cases of primary aldosteronism with the analysis of tactical and diagnostic errors.
