Editorial

Dear colleagues!


The new issue of the journal "Endocrinology: news, opinions, education." It is dedicated to the analysis of two such important pathologies as diabetes and thyroid disease.


The main objective of the journal is regularly to provide information about existing methods of prevention, diagnostics and treatment of endocrinological diseases. A large variety of therapeutic and prophylactic techniques and medicines are constantly puts the doctor facing a difficult problem of choice. Important is the presence of a doctor of a certain idea of complex and unusual clinical situations for optimal approach to the management of the patient. In our publication with the first issue published the latest data reflecting the results of the research of leading experts, as well as analytical reviews covering the most topical issues of endocrinology.


This issue is devoted to the topical issues of improving the treatment of diabetes mellitus, correction of metabolic disorders, prevention and treatment of diabetic neurological complications, reduce the risk of vascular complications. In one of the review articles included in the issue presents the innovative the who strategy for the prevention of obesity. In addition, the magazine contained materials relating to the effective treatment of obesity in the world, as well as new approaches to the treatment of diabetes mellitus type 2 (dm2) and its complications. The results of the influence of adipose tissue hormones on the mechanisms of development of insulin resistance and lipid metabolism in patients younger than 50 years with subclinical hypothyroidism, as well as the characteristics of adaptation capacity and energy metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes.


The magazine published the main provisions of the updated Algorithm for the treatment of diabetes, published by the American Association of clinical endocrinologists (AACE) in 2013, This algorithm presents a personalized prophylactic approach to the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes and high risk for diabetes - overweight, pre-diabetes and/or cardiovascular disease.


We hope that our publication will be useful for endocrinologists, to help them find new and interesting information about modern approaches to the management of patients with endocrine pathology.
