Clinical case of observation of a patient with morbid obesity after bariatric embolization of the left gastric artery

Abstract

The article presents the experience of treating a patient with morbid obesity using bariatric embolization of the left gastric artery - an innovative, minimally invasive method of treating obesity, which demonstrates a decrease in body weight by an average of 18-19% six months after it is conducted. As a result of the treatment, there is not only a decrease in body weight, BMI, but also a remission of type 2 diabetes, a decrease in ghrelin and leptin levels, an increase in the high molecular adiponectin level. This will further allow to study the effect of embolization of the left gastric artery on metabolic health in obese patients.
