Structure of the causes of emergency hospitalization of patients with type 2 diabetes in non-endocrinological departments

Abstract

Aim. Identify the structure of the main causes of emergency hospitalization of patients with type 2 diabetes in nonendocrinological departments at the hospital.

Material and methods. Data from a retrospective analysis of case histories of patients hospitalized in 2018 for emergency reasons in connection with complications of diabetes, such as acute cerebrovascular accident, acute myocardial infarction, diabetic foot syndrome, as well as due to exacerbation of comorbid pathology leading to decompensation carbohydrate metabolism were used.

Results and discussion. The case histories of 100 people were analyzed. In 31% of patients, the experience of diabetes was 10 years or less, in 50% - more than 10 years; in 19% - diabetes was first diagnosed at the hospital.

Conclusions. In the structure of emergency hospitalization prevail macroangiopathy complications of diabetes cardiovascular diseases and cerebrovascular diseases. It is necessary to organize a diabetes school for patients with diabetes.
