Cardiovascular risks in diabetes
AbstractThere is a clear-cut relationship between diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Currently established that hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia, big daily glucose fluctuations and diabetic autonomous polyneuropathy increase the risk of sudden cardiac death. New research shows increase of number of hypoglycemia against heavyduty therapy with accompanying increased body weight on 30%. That is why it is reasonable to provide more gentle step-by-step approach for intensifying of glucose lowering therapy that determine the choice of drugs with lower risk of hypoglycemia and an individual approach for target levels for glycemic control setting.
