Comprehensive assessment of carbohydrate metabolism in obese patients in combination with type 2 diabetes mellitus before and after embolization of the left gastric artery
AbstractAccording to the World Health Organization over 500 million people are obese and more than 425 million people have diabetes. The risk of developing type 2 diabetes is directly proportional to weight gain. Nowadays despite of existing variety of methods and approaches to treatment of obese patients it is not possible to achieve desired and long-tern results. In this context developing methods to promote weight loss and improve carbohydrate metabolism becomes particularly relevant.
