A cohort study: endocrinologist’s physical active pattern

Abstract

Medical health worker's physical activity (PA) is a strong predictor of their propensity for lifestyle therapy consulting. The aim of this study was to evaluate endocrinologist's PA level and their motivation to more active lifestyle. We have performed a survey that included social-economic status, both short and long version of International Physical Activity Questionnaires and question concerning of more PA motivation. The data were processed in the IBM SPSS Statistics 23. The study involved 474 doctors and senior medical students aged 20 to 59 years, including 155 endocrinologists. The study shows that most endocrinologists have moderate PA and that there is no difference in PA with other medical specialists. Endocrinologists are highly motivated for more active lifestyle. Time and financial limits were most common restricting factors for being more active.
