Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors in lipotoxicity correction Gogoleva S.P.

Abstract

Adipokines are involved in the regulation of almost all processes in the body. Their production impairment and excessive accumulation of free fatty acids lead to the development of lipotoxicity. Sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors may affect both carbohydrate and fat metabolism. That represents scientific and practical interest.

Keywords:leptin, adiponectin, type 2 diabetes mellitus, lipotoxicity
