Assessment of the actual nutrition of women with diabetes: are there any differens from “healthy” women?
AbstractMaterial and methods. A comparative assessment of the actual nutrition of 58 women: without a violation of carbohydrate metabolism (group 1, n=35) and with diabetes (group 2, n=23), with the use of the computer program “Analysis of human nutritional status (version 1.2. by State Agency Research Nutrition Institution of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, 2005)”. Statistical processing was carried out with the use of the IBM SPSS Statistics 22 software package. Results: there was a significant nutrient imbalance in both groups: increased consumption of fats and sugar. In group 1, the consumption of added sugar and simple carbohydrates is bigger than in the second group (p<0.001). In both groups, a decrease in the level of B vitamins was revealed (there are no differences between the groups). Conclusions: The diets of women in both groups are unbalanced. Excess of fat, simple carbohydrates, a deficiency of vitamins (B1, B2, niacin) was revealed, which requires timely correction of therapeutic and preventive measures.
