Selected lectures from the XVIII World Congress Insulin Resistance «Diabetes & Cardiovascular Disease»
AbstractCOVID-19 made significant changes in the organization of many events, taking into account all the restrictions in 2020, the World Congress on Insulin Resistance «Diabetes & Cardiovascular Disease» was held remotely, but in the welcome video, Congress Chairman Yehuda Handelsman expressed great hope that in 2021 this event will be held in person. There were a little more than 20 sessions in total, some of them were enlightened about the relationship of COVID-19 with diabetes and obesity, but special attention was paid to the pathology of the cardiovascular system, kidneys and liver in terms of disorders of carbohydrate metabolism. This article contains 4 lectures, which cover both experimental methods - insulin clearance and assessment of diacylglycerol Levels, and more clinically applicable topics in the form of kidney and heart disease.
