Flash glucose monitoring in the practice of pediatric endocrinologist

Abstract

Continuous glucose monitoring technologies are rapidly gaining positions in pediatric endocrinology practice: according to foreign authors, the number of children using continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technologies increased 10-fold from 2016 to 2018. In the Russian Federation, the study of blood glucose levels by continuous monitoring is regulated by the clinical recommendations «Type 1 diabetes in children», moreover, the method of CGM is included to the updated standard of medical care for children with type 1 diabetes (diagnosis and treatment) in 2021. As the use of CGM devices continues to expand rapidly, the effective integration of this method into clinical practice will become a central element of ensuring optimal childcare facilities and teenagers with type 1 diabetes.
