New opportunities in diabetes mellitus management with Flash glucose monitoring

Abstract

The growing number of patients with diabetes calls for innovative approaches, including new digital technologies, to ensure glycemic control. It also applies to continuous glucose monitoring. Flash glucose monitoring allows to observe changes in glucose levels immediately, identify trends and patterns of these changes, and make more clear therapeutic decisions with a personalized approach to patient care. A unified digital ecosystem consisting of the LibreView cloud platform, smartphone apps FreeStyle LibreLink and LibreLinkUp has been developed for Flash glucose monitoring. This digital ecosystem provides online access for doctors and patients to the glycemic profile data and additional patient support from their relatives or medical attendants.

This article analyses the outpatient glycemic profile report of a patient with diabetes mellitus using a new report form.
