Flash glucose monitoring in patients with diabetes mellitus: simple, convenient, necessary

Abstract

In the last decade, continuous glucose monitoring has become increasingly popular. The Freestyle Libre system is a Flash monitoring method that allows you to create a new paradigm for self-monitoring of glycemia. The use of the new technology with the help of flash monitoring of the FreeStyle libre system significantly improves glycemic control in patients with type 1 and 2 diabetes mellitus, reduces the frequency of hypoglycemic episodes and is economicaly more profitable than the traditional measurement of the level of glycemia using glucose meters. Using the cloud platform with the LibreView web interface, with the help of which doctors and patients can create a set of structured, understandable reports and share them, allows you to aggregate data on the glucose level of all patients attached to a medical institution, to carry out dynamic monitoring and control.
