Hypo- and hyperglycemia: how to balance it?

Abstract

Hyper- and hypoglycemia states are processes that are opposite in pathogenetic mechanisms, but have potentially negative consequences for the body. Insulinoma is a fairly rare disease, the clinical picture of which is associated with endogenous hyperinsulinism. This article presents a clinical case of a patient who has been in hypoglycemic states for a long time due to an actively insulin-producing neuroendocrine tumor of the pancreas, after removal of which type 2 diabetes mellitus develops.
