Differential diagnosis of follicular thyroid tumors with the use of core-needle biopsy
AbstractThe study is devoted to the evaluation of the diagnostic capabilities of core-needle biopsy of follicular thyroid tumors. An analysis of the preliminary results of the study showed that ultrasound-guided core-needle in cases of follicular lesions (Bethesda IV cytology) is an important additional method for examining a patient, and makes it possible to assess the invasion of a tumor into the capsule or surrounding vessels. The introduction of core-needle biopsy of the thyroid gland into practice may help reduce the number of non-necessary surgical interventions in this group of patients.
