The use of antioxidants in the treatment of purulent-necrotic complications of diabetic foot syndrome

Abstract

The publication highlights the problem of purulent-necrotic complications of diabetic foot syndrome. Despite the fact that the etiology and pathogenesis of diabetic foot syndrome have been studied for a long time, statistical data on the frequency of complications remains disappointing. One of the factors contributing to the slowdown of reparative processes in wounds in these patients, as well as relapses of the purulent-necrotic process is the presence of oxidative stress.

A clinical study with the use of antioxidants in addition to standard multicomplex therapy is described. As a result of the study, it was found that against the background of the use of antioxidants the time for cleansing wounds from necrotic tissues, as well as the appearance of granulation and epithelialization, are significantly reduced.
