Timely diagnosis and correction of obstructive sleep apnea and sleep and wake rhythm disorders in the management of cardiometabolic health in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus
AbstractSleep disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea, are common in type 2 diabetes, but in most patients this problem is not given due attention due to the lack of information in the Russian clinical guidelines “Type 2 diabetes in adults” and, thus, low awareness of endocrinologists about the importance of early detection and correction. This article shows the necessity of timely diagnosis of sleep disorders in outpatient endocrinological practice and improvement of carbohydrate, lipid metabolism, blood pressure and quality of life against the background of РAР therapy and normalization of the rhythm of sleep and wakefulness in a patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus using a clinical example.
