Influence of diabetic distal polyneuropathy on imbalance in patients with diabetes mellitus (review)

Abstract

Attempts of instrumental measurements and objective reflection of the equilibrium have been made for a long time and are based on the detection of oscillations of the human body. Analyze of investigations about the impact of diabetic polyneuropathy on the balance in patients with diabetes was made. Diabetic distal polyneuropathy was found as an important cause of the imbalance in patients with DM. The dynamic posturography is the most sensitive method for assessing balance.
