The place of a multifactorial personalized approach in the diagnosis of thyroid nodules. Clinical case

Abstract

This study assessed the results of fine needle aspiration biopsy (TAB) in patients with thyroid nodules in comparison with the diagnosis on admission and the postoperative diagnosis. In a number of patients there was a discrepancy between the above diagnoses and the TAB results. There was also a clinical example of false positive TAB results, which increases the percentage of unnecessary surgical interventions. The results of the above data confirm the need to improve the diagnostic stage in patients with thyroid nodules.
