Modern aspects of sulfonylurea using in management of diabetes mellitus type 2

Abstract

The article deals with the multi-factorial strategy of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) management and discussed the role of the sulfonilureas drugs as the modern methods of hypoglycemic therapy of the disease and focused on their place in the national recommendations. Large-scale analysis of the recent years has confirmed the importance of sulfonilureas drugs on the different stages of intensification of the type 2 DM therapy. Sulfonilureas drugs has proven its efficasy and safety in combination with metformin, triple combination with metformin and DPP-4 inhibitors, insulin therapy and can also individually provide additional advantages of the glucose-reduction therapy.
