Approaches to gestational diabetes mellitus therapy in real clinical practic

Abstract

The study is dedicated to the main methods of gestational diabetes mellitus management, which is based on dietary intervention, and only in a small percentage of cases medical treatment of hyperglycemia is necessary. To date, the absence of specific dietary recommendations provided for pregnant women has been analyzed. In a number of countries in case of inefficiency of nutrition therapy for gestational diabetes mellitus, some oral hypoglycemic drugs can be used in addition to insulin therapy.
