Assessment of the prevalence of depression in patients with diabetes mellitus depending on its type, gender, age, duration of the disease
AbstractThe study assessed the prevalence of depression in patients with diabetes mellitus, depending on the type of diabetes mellitus, gender, age and duration of the disease. The participants answered the questions of the Beck Depression Inventory. At the time of the survey depression was diagnosed in 2/5 of the respondents: almost half of the patients with type 1 diabetes and more than a third of the patients with type 2 diabetes. Depression was more common among women than among men. The number of patients with depression increased with increasing duration of diabetes.
