Comparative assessment of quantitative indicators of the relative intensity of the tumor signal on T2-weighted MR images in patients with densely and sparsely granulated somatotropic tumors
AbstractThe report presents the results of a comparison of clinical, morphological and radiological indicators analysis in patients with densely and sparsely granulated somatotropic tumors. It has been shown that these neoplasias differ from each other in terms of receptor phenotype, relative intensity of the tumor signal on T2-weighted MR images, as well as sensitivity to 1st generation somatostatin analogues. The introduction of a non-invasive method for quantitative determination of the relative intensity of the tumor signal on T2-weighted MR images in clinical practice will improve the diagnosis of acromegaly and optimize the treatment strategy.
