Old diseases in modern light: hypercortisolism devoid of specific clinical symptoms

AbstractIn this review there are discussed modern concepts concerning Cushing Syndrome/ syndrome of hypercortisolism, which is actual for internists. There are mentioned data on emergence of "new" forms of Cushnig syndrome, the increasing occurrence of clinically erased forms of this disease and the higher prevalence of such forms among specific patient populations (patients with type 2 diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis, hypertension, etc.) in comparison with the general population.
